PLease help
 
Have a HD with data an can not acess it even from the prompt
i type e:
the light is flashing and after about 10 seconds i get
data error ( cyclic redundancy check)
 
i am just tiying to access the disk and can not the message above is all i get.
 
 
can anyone tell me how to over come this hurdle

Did the drive used to work in the same machine - if so what changed since it last worked, if not when did it last work? Can you see the drive in the BIOS? Is the drive partitioned/formatted?

One day i boote up and the computer did not boot the HD was C:
 
now i have it on an expternal usb port  
 
i can see it in vista but when i try to access the explorese crashes
 
on the comand  prompt line i get data error cyclical redundany check
 
 
hope there is a way to  reformat
