New member, I tried doing some searches for this but no luck,
Hopefully this is the correct section to be posting this?
My hard drive won't boot up at all. I have Vista, my computer froze up the other day so I shut down manually, then restarted, when i restarted everything seemed fine, but after the Dell logo it went to a black screen and it said no boot disk available, sata 0: no disk, sata 1: no disk, sata 2: none, sata 3: none.
Here is what i have tried so far.
1. unplugged shut down completely restarted
2. Bios, to make sure that hard drive is first boot disk (I only have one hard drive)
3. System setup, only drive that is recognized is the dvd drive, my hard drive does not even show up here.
4. I have unplugged and plugged back in all connections to ensure they are connected.
5. used power cord from dvd drive to ensure power was good.
6. tried booting on safe mode, would not even go into safe mode.
7. Inserted Dell disk for recovery diagnostic, software could not detect hard drive
try resetting the cmos and make sure sata is set to ide mode, not riad.
u could call Dell also. if it has vista, i assume it's still under warranty. they might be able to help, especially if there's a kown issue with that model.
