fan speed software

is there any software out there that actually works when turning down fan speed, besides "fan speed" also do i have to plug the fan into the motherboard to control it? just doesnt seem safe to pluv a 2v fan into a mobo....

in order to control your fans from software... both your mobo and fans need to have a 4 pin header.

Your other option is to purchase a fan control unit... they have knobs so you can turn down the voltage. also check in your BIOS.. it might support some options to turn down the fans at certain temperatures.
