I bought a new Samsung 32mb cache 750g hard drive this week.

And now, everything seems to run so freaking slow.

Anyways, I have read in other places that they put jumpers on the back of the drives and if the jumper was on it would only run in 1.5g mode instead of 3.0g mode.

There were no jumpers on mine or even in the packaging, but I dunno, this all feels so damn slow compared to my old junkie Seagate 250gig.

Is there any way to check and see what this is running at now?

What is the rest of your spec? I think you can safely forget about the jumper for the moment; the drive will be fine in default setting. Did you check in windows in which mode the drive is running?

Run HDTUNE and post the results.

Samsung use a software tool to configure the drive, I beleive they ship set to 3.0Gig and the tool is required to set them to 1.5.

It's worth getting a copy to make sure you have the drive configured correctly.
