Hello,
why would I have a need to include the gigabit feature in a router that I planned to purchase? My wireless home net will include a desk top, a laptop computer with one printer and a mass store device and also two smart cell phones. Usage include photos, music and maybe a a few movies. Thank. Nick.

a standard cable modem or DSL modem has a T10 /100 connection so you would not benifit from using a wireless router with a T1000 connection unless you also update the cable or dsl modem also to one that is a full gigabyte connection.

Updating to a full T1000 connection is good for local bandwidth for transfering files to one computer to another in your home network. However, in terms of increasing your over all internet speed it wouldn't help in that case.

So keep this in mind when your purchasing. If you need any further help let me know.
