well ive decided to go with the 8800gt route after reading the reviews and benchmarks. But my questions is..Would a 420w be enough or a 500 or 600?

500 i'd say look at the 12v ampage!

Depends on the quality.

For good quality I'd say stick to the 500W for headroom, for mediocre quality I'd say go with the 600W because it's prbably rated at 20-25C and not the 40+C temps in most PCs. I think it's the very rare 420W PSU I'd trust with even a GF8800GT.
