Was about to purchase an x1950 Pro new for $200+Delivery when a mate told me I could have his x1900xtx (both 512's) for $100 (about 14mths old). Which should I buy?

IF you and your mate can hold for a few weeks there are supposed to be released 8800GT 256MB and RV670 with a better price/performance ratio for just a little bit more money, if you can't wait then take your friend's offer, sounds like a sweet deal.

LOL neg! TBH hadn't spent any time looking at the xtx's because my budget is around AU$200-$300, so wasn't sure of specs. You're here so I can be lazy right? :ange:

That's the reason my mate is flogging his card off - he received his new 8800GT today!

Ok, thanks for your responses :) x1900xtx it is! (Oh I forgot to mention, it also has an aftermarket better, quieter cooler on it)

Yeah for sure, the X1900XTX. $100 is a good price for a used one even in the USA. I'd buy a used X1900XTX from a buddy over a identically priced brand new X1950 pro, never mind at half price.

prices are so out of wack here its not funny.
$640.00 for a brand new 8800GTX cheapest i can find thru static ice.
just about a 50% mark up on everything. btw our dollar is buying $0.90 american dollars.
i hope they are planning to start an inquiry into consumer product prices. /rant/highjack
go for the x1900xt's if you havent all ready

There have been murmerings of the cost of technology going down because of the strong Aussie dollar, but I haven't seen any evidence of it yer personally. Maybe after Xmas we'll see some flow on effect. Who's to say where the AU$ will be sitting then though :/
