i would put this in the software section but its a safe bet to assume no one goes there, but i'm sorry anyway.

my problem is that i got vista x64 and minus a few small bugs(i.e. not being able to manually delete self made shortcut of uninstalled programs in the quick launch) i am surprising my self by how well im taking to it.

however in XP i never used the System Back up and Restores im not used to how it works. but like the kind vista asked i let it once a week take a image of my documents music files, squeeze it nice and small and it there when i need it.

however the partition which i dumped it on was getting a bit fat. so i need to trimmed a little out. so i started by removing a few of the back up folders (which are all dated. i got rid of the leat useful, ie last week i did little work so that went and a few others.

so when i come to run(i shouldnt take credit it did it for me) the back up restore, it stop telling me that it cant find last weeks file so i now cant run back up, not good. im not so keen on running trid party app, i would rather have a away of refreshing the restore t start from fresh so i can be safe

any help (and sorry agains it not hardware)

Under this theory, you'd have better luck posting the question on a "cute cat" forum with even more traffic...

Most backup systems, including that from microsoft's Onecare start with a full backup, then each successive backup is an incremental one, which only backs up changed files. There should be an option to start a new FULL backup. Assuming your files are ok, delete all the old backups, and start a new full backup.
---good luck---

nope cant find that option

i dont thinks it incremental, as each folder i delete was larger than the last, including the first

It's probably time to get a better backup system then.
