Gigabyte P35-DS3L OC Questions

Hey everyone, I just started to overclock my system and I have a few questions about the gigabyte board I'm using.

First, I'm trying to get my FSB:DRAM frequency in a 1:1 ratio, but the option in the bios to change the settings seems to be this "system memory multiplier." I have my Q6600 set at 2.8 GHz (9*311), but the lowest multiplier is 2.5 which results in a DRAM frequency of 778. Is there any way to get this value lower to a 2.0 multiplier?

Second, I'm a little confused about setting the CPU core voltage. I keep lowering mine, but the readings I am getting in CPU-Z (v.1.43) do not correlate at all. For example, I set in the bios to run at 1.23 but CPU-Z reads 1.168-1.214. Is CPU-Z just not accurate, or is there something else I need to change in the bios?

Thanks so much for the help!

He said there isn't the 2 in there.

To OP: Try hitting Ctrl + F1 in the bios menu.

My bad, I read it wrong

.......I have no clue. The DS3L has a lot of Bios issues. My EIST function completely disappeared for me

I tried the Ctrl+F1 key combo, but all that does is give me options to change the latency timings for the memory. The weird thing is that if I set it to auto (the only one above 2.5 in the menu), I get 933 as my memory frequency. So I'm a little lost!

Sorry to bother everyone, but can anyone tell me if it is possible on my motherboard to set the SPD to 2.0 in order to get a 1:1 FSB to DRAM ratio?

I as well have the 2x SPD multi on my DS3L rev1.0. I have the F5 BIOS as well. It should be there, make sure you scroll up and down through all the settings, it's got to be in there.

Yeah, it's definitely not there. I e-mailed gigabyte to see if they know anything about getting the option. The weird thing is that me and my roomate both got this board, and we both don't have the option to select 2.0 (the lowest is 2.5).

That seems very strange. I have the same board and I have it set to 2.0. I'm not sure where, but one of the settings I changed, I had to scroll down to the bottom. I don't know if it was the memory multiplier, but it was something. I don't want to turn of my computer right now to check but it's there. BTW, I'm using bios F8a.

well for me it's rock solid :), you just have to play with it and set the memory multiplier @ 2.0 and increase the memory voltage a little bit

How do you know what bios version you are running?

I also have the DS3L and I have 2.0 as an option under (SPD)

How do you run the CPU fan at 100%? Mine is running at 770 RPM, is that close to 100%?

Thanks

The stock intel fan is about 1700rpm+ (give or take a few)

Go into PC Health and you will see auto fan control and disable it.
Also, I was told before how to open it in Bios, but if you go into CPU-Z it should tell you in the motherboard section

You can find the BIOS version in CPU-Z and during the POST screen. Looks like you got the fan running at full blast, if not it's under power setting in the BIOS and auto fan speed should be off.

Thanks.

Looks like I'm running BIOS version F6. Any opinions on that?

Also, I just noticed that CPU-Z is not reading my multiplier correctly. I'm running x9 and it's reading x6. CrystalCPUID is reading it correctly. Thoughts?
