The format did not complete successfully

Hi guys,

I've recently installed a 160G Hitachi hard disk but i just can't seem to get it to work.

Attempts to format it always turns up the message "The format did not complete successfully" after completing 100%. I've tried this in both the disk management in windows and from the command prompt window.

I've attempted to partition and formatting in 150G, then 100G, and even in 10G, but all the sizes didn't work.

I've tried switching the IDE cables between my 2 hard disks but this Hitachi one still doesn't work.

I'm running on Windows XP with SP2. My ATAPI driver version is 5.1.2600.2180.

Any advice guys?

Alright i just completed the Drive Fitness Test and my hard disk is in great shape... no errors were found.

Guess that means something's awry with my computer... help... :( 

Hi Friend! I have the exact same problem as you had. I tried everything I can think of for the last few days and ready to ditch this thing. Which version of Maxblast did you use and how did you do it. It seems to me that you can't really format through Maxblast. Could you provide me more details. Apprecite your help.
