I currently have an 8800 GTX and I game at 1920 x 1200. Would I be better off just doing SLI with the two 8800GT's and get a good performance increase?

No, another 8800 GTX will give you more performance in SLI.

I cannot afford another GTX though. Was looking to sell the GX and grab 2 GT's :)

Since nobody has answered your question yet, I will try. (2) 8800GT's will outperform a GTX in lower resolutions. According to the benchmarks I've seen the GTX will beat the SLI'ed GT's in higher resolutions. I'd stick to the GTX for the time being.

To emphasize what was said above, you couldn't spend the same amount on (2) GT's as you would get for your used GTX. GT's are going for $260 or more, and GTX you can find new on a good sale for around $500. Factor in that yours is used and you have to find a buyer, I'd expect to get ~425-450 for it. Sounds like you'll have to put a little money in.

If I were you, I'd keep the GTX for your high resolution. I've been hearing that the GTX prices should be coming down soon due to newer cards coming out, so since it sounds like you already have a SLI motherboard, i'd wait until you can afford another one of those.

2 8800GT beat a single 8800GTX in most benchmarks but in resolutions lower than 1920x1200 , in that reolution more memory is better , so i would keep the 8800GTX

also , remember there are some games that dont support SLI, or they will do bad with SLI due to driver problems.
2 8800GT will be hotter than single 8800GTX too

so keep your 8800GTX

Neither

for $500 - $600 wait for the new high end G92 cards. Either get one 8800 GT or wait for a high end card to replace the 8800 GTX.

I'm not sure if it will be a G92 based 8800GTX or a 9800 GTX we will be seeing.

Because you start out as a stranger, now your a noobie. :) Do you really think that just because someone has a lower standing is any less knowledgable.
