I currently have a 680i EVGA mobo with 2 36 GB Raptors in RAID 0 and two 500 GB hard drives (one WD and one seagate). I'm dual booting but have the vista intall on the RAID 0, which basically is full and the xp install is on on one of the 500 GB drives. I have difficulties because I had to trick xp into installing with RAID and now everytime I boot up I get the add new hardware wizard for two raptors. First question: Is there really a huge advantage of having RAID 0? Is it worth it? I want to keep the raptor RAID 0 array but buy one more seagate 500 GB hard drive and create a 1 TB RAID 0 array with the two seagate drives. I would dual boot off of the 1 TB drive and use the raptor array for games or editing. Is this worth it or should I just use the drives as single entities?

There is generally no real world(vs. synthetic transfer rate benchmarks) performance advantage to raid of any kind.

There are some specific applications that will benefit, but
gaming is not one of them. Even if you have an application which reads one input file sequentially, and writes
it out, you will perform about as well by putting the input on one drive, and the output on the other.
