E2140 won't overclock at all!

Hey, so you know I'm a beginner.

I have an Asrock 4Coredual -Sata2 mb, E2140 cpu with a Freezer 7 Pro cooler and 2x1GHz(800MHz)DDR2. I have updated my bios to the newest version (1.80). So, I tried to increase the cpu frequency a little bit from the original 200, and my computer didn't even boot. It doesn't matter if I increase the frequency by 1 or 50, the computer still won't boot up. I have to press the reset button 4 times and then I can get back to bios where I must put the frequency back to 200 if I wan't it to boot. I'm not quite sure about any of the other settings, haven't touched them.

Is there something wrong with my settings or how is it possible that I can't increase the frequency at all? People can easily get an E2140 to 8x350 and I can't get past 8x200.
If someone knows how to solve this problem, please tell me.

Thanks a lot in advance.

I read the guide and changed the following settings:
PCIE freq=100MHz
PCIclock sync=33,33MHz
Spread spectrum=disabled
DRAM=667MHz

I increased cpu freq to 220 and got to windows loading screen and then comp just froze...
Those settings didn't seem to solve the problem.

You cant adjust Vcore directly. You need to google the BSEL mod which involves connecting some of the CPU pins with a conductive pen to fool the M/B into changing the Vcore. You will need to change the FSB voltage with a pencil mod so you can get above 290 FSB. It will only get to a MAX of 315-330 anyway. I used a E4500 with a multiplier of 11 and got 310 stable with a PCI-E card but would post up to 330 with an AGP card. Check the forums at www.extremesystems.org and http://forums.vr-zone.com and search the threads for volt mods for Asrock 775Dual-vsta as its basically the same board.

Is http://www.sudhian.com/index.php?/forums/viewthread/100978/ this the correct CPU mod (bottom of the page)? Is it enough to do the BSEL mod on the cpu or do I have to mod the mb too?

http://www.sudhian.com/index.php?/forums/viewthread/100978/ Use the mods here. the other mods for 333 FSB just make the mobo think the CPU has that FSB as stock, if you dont have enough Vcore it wont boot. The Asrock board wont go that high anyway. I`ve used the 1.6v Vcore mod on my E4500 with air cooling no probs. Its currently running 9*400=3600 with 1.62v Vcore but on a Asus 680i M/B. Strangely it wont boot at high overclocks no matter what I adjust the Vcore to on the Asus 680i board unless the 1.6v Vcore pin mod is used. If you do the CPU mod you should be able to get to about 280-290 FSB. The pencil mod is needed to up the FSB voltage(Northbridge voltage Vnb) to get above this.

Damn, those cats are crazy. I have the ASRock 4coredual for my e2160 when I get a new q6600 for my main rig. Not sure I am brave or bored enough to go through that much trouble to overclock using the asrock board ;)
