Heres my problem, I run it at 2.7Ghz usually, 300x9.
I set pci x freq. to 100mhz, turn off all the stuff that I should ( I believe ) and I set DDR voltage to auto.
When I cold boot it, 50% of the time it doesnt post and I haveto turn it on and off at least 5 times to get back into BIOS. WTF is going on, is it my bios version, or memory voltage or timing? I mean the E4300 should have NO problem staying at 2.7 especially with my good thermaltake cooler and arctic silver. One thing Ive noticed after downloading Coretemp is that I idle at 38c and under full load orthos I get up to 70c. I THINK I USED to much THERMAL PASTE...... but this WOULD NOT affect a COLD boot............????? Someone with experience give me a hand please...?
Redo the thermal paste. Use as little as possible - with the LGA775 processors I usually use a blob the size of a rice grain, smack in the middle of the CPU.
If that doesn't help, check your voltages. Your case airflow and cooling can also have a huge effect.
Hang on... you have an 8800. Basically you have a baby furnace right next to your CPU cooler. With that card, case airflow becomes critical...
Another thing that could cause severe problems... what's the rating on your power supply?

It honestly seems to run the best at "auto"voltage on the ram... I flashed my mobo to BIOS F12 last nite also.
Mugz>> Yeah I think I need to do that as well, only problem is this being my first build I didnt install the proc/ mobo. I had a experienced friend, so im a little nervous.
