Hey guys, long time lurker first time poster. =)

I'm looking to replace my aging socket 939 machine with a core 2 quad q6600. Naturally i'm proficient in building and overclocking but my knowledge of the chipsets and such has deminished alot since my last build.

Essentually i would like a very overclockable (preferably SLi ready) chipset. As much as i search, i can't find any! :??:

I must be looking in the wrong places i'm sure, so i'll ask.

What is the high end, SLi socket 775 (core2quad) chipset at the moment?

Thanks ^_^

Hey we only live once, can't take your wallet with you :p

Quick question though, are there better options should i choose to go single 8800GT instead of SLi?

If you're not planning on dual graphics, the P35 chipsets are a good choice. If you are still looking SLI, the 689i chipsets are great (Asus striker extreme being one of many, but a very good on (costly too)). If you want dual graphics and do not buy an nVidia board, you could choose the X38 chipset, though it doesn't "officially" support SLI, it does support crossfire, though I have heard of hacked drivers that will offer support.
