Just have a question I was wondering if anyone knows if the Zalman CNPS9500 would fit on a Asus Maximus Formula SE. I have the fan already and will be picking up the MB soon. Wanted to know ahead of time if I will have to look for another cooling solution.

You shouldn't have a problem at all with that mobo, your good. Don't think I have ever heard of an Asus mainboard not being able to fit any HSF.

i also ordered that mobo and will be using a TR ultra 120 extreme (which fits)
so i guess the zalman won't be a problem

I wouldn't bother, go with the Blitz Formula and DDR2 and call it a day. There is nothing X-38 with DDR-3 offers that is worth $50.

Don't you need the X38 for the Penryn chips? I am looking to the future with this board.

the p35 mobo is faster at this point but the x38 will nodoubt be faster with bios updates???

i have both the blitz and the maximus - the extra asus chip on the mobo of the blitz adds a conversation piece.

i think the blitz is being phased out there are so few of them

He said the Asus Maxiumus forumula was DDR3, that is not correct. It is in fact DDR2, and does fly. the Maximus extreme is DDR3.
