new CPU, how to cool it?

I just bought a nice new Athlon 64X2 6400, and it didn't come with a cooler, I didn't pay attention to that when I bought it, cause it was a retail edition, I just assumed it would. Anyhow, I'm set to replace an Athlon 64X2 4200, which did come with a fan/heatsink. My question is... can I just use the fan/heatsink that came with the 4200, will it provide adequate cooling?

You should go buy an after-market cooler for the 6400+ BE. It runs too hot for the stock cooling.

The best cooling out there is the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme, however it may be too expensive and too heavy.

The second best is the Zerotherm Nirvana, but many people has issues with it when using it with AMD.

Hmm, what if I returned it since it's unopened and got the one with the fan included. That should work, that's what I'm probably gonna do. I'm not planning on overclocking.

No Black Edition comes with a cooler. Get a non-Black Edition cpu.

Well, the black edition phenom comes with a cooler, though it's not suppose to. and what issues are AMD users having with the nirvana? *points at the one in his case* Other than maybe the mounting ring not being sturdy thats the only thing I could think of. They need to come out with a better version of that. I'd be willing to reinstall my mobo for maybe a metal or carbonate version.
