Hi I am wondering why my core speed is only 2000mhz and not 2600? Shouldnt the multiplyer be x8 or something?

Also, is that voltage low? This is all stock I havent touched anything. Thanks

i believe that's absolutely normal. the multiplier will be x8 when the CPU is under load. Try to do some heavy tasking (i.e. transcoding movie) and you'll see the increasing in core speed and multiplier.

Yup, the multiplier should be 8x. You should be able to turn off Speed Step in your BIOS, and something else called C1E if you built your rig. From what I've heard, Speed step reduces your voltage, and C1E reduces the CPU's clock speed. Then you will see the full 2.66ghz. Voltage can be between 0.962V-1.350V (recommended settings).
If you plan to OC it should do well. For some reason I can't get my E6750 above 3.11ghz, but I'm not sure if it's because of the processor or the motherboard (Gigabyte P35-DS3R)... And that's pretty low compared to what I've read.

Good Luck!

The SpeedStep is not necessarily a problem.
Basically when the HorsePower is not needed, it runs at slower speeds to conserve power.

Descalada, What are your memory settings?

What is your memory Ratio?
What type of Memory?

the multipler floats with newer chips it works pretty well

if you got your system over clocked to 3.2-3.6 let it float

if you running stock i would lock by turning off the throttling
