Everything seems fine to me if you don't plan to OC... maybe beef up your PSU a little bit just to help extend it's life a bit (running a PSU at full load will shorten its lifespan).

if you plan to OC you might want to look at an aftermarket Heat Sink & Fan.... I personally like Zelmans, good quality stuff... or if you want to splurge some money, get liquid cooling.

The Corsair 450w is one of the better PSUs in the power range.
The PC Power and Cooling 470w is also a great PSU in that range.

What will this system be used for?
The GPU seems like an odd selection.
It will not be very good for gaming.
Also, all of the 512mb versions I saw have DDR2 which means they will be slower than the 256mb versions that use DDR3.

While I would not recommend an 8500gt if you were to get one, this would be a good one to get.

Don't guess at how much you need; calculate the minimum then bump it by no less that 25%

So if you need a bare minimum of 400 then get a 500, if you need 600 then get 750... and so on.. this will help keep your psu cool and not push it too hard. I'm only building with a minimum of 750 watt psu's these days... sure it's a bit of overkill, but these systems are designed for overclocking and all the rest... I have an E6600 running solid at 3.7 with a bus at almost 1700 using ddr 800 memory...

use this link to figure it out

random1283, if you can afford to upgrade to 8800 GTS 320 MB and a PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610W (or at least GameXStream 600W) I strongly recommend you do it. If necessary ditch a hard disk and 2 GB of RAM to save money - you can add those later after you save more money.

Tanks everyone for the tips so at the moment i am probably going ro change to the E6600 because ive used a couple calculators for wattage and the quad core uses much more and it involves more cooling.
unfortunately for us aussies the 8800gts is about $200aud more expensive tha the 8600gt so i cant upgrade that far without dropping some stuff
