AVI video File keeps causing freeze

I have 2 avi videos in a folder on my desktop. Every time I open the folder it freezes and I have to close it through task manager. I know its the videos that's causing it because when I move them one at a time to the trash bin and open the folder they were in, everything is fine. I thought at first it might be a codec problem but I have all the codecs.

More about video file causing freeze
  1. try with some other codec like klite or with other media player like vlc or media player classic..
it might have some errors in avi index files..
  2. Klite fixed it. It was a codec problem after all. Klite even uninstalled all of previous codec packages which could have been the problem. Thanks manojgj
