I'm trying to learn to overclock my system. But, I don't get the temperatures. I read some of the reviews for my CPU on Newegg and some guys say things like "It's great for overclocking. I'm getting 3.0 Ghz and running at 35c under full load with a stock cooler." I'm getting nowhere near that kind of temperature. If I run two instances of Prime95 at once and use 100% CPU, I'm getting about 60c at 2.6 Ghz with an aftermarket cooler and a boatload of fans. What's going on here? Are my temps really high or are these people lying?
That guys results are bullcock...no way in hell (wouldn't be amazed if the CPU is at 80C and slowly dieing). Look at Comp's temp. guide at the top. Could be that you are miscalibrated giving you higher temps.

I just read through the guide and it's very interesting. My temps must be registering improperly though. Core should always be higher than TCase and both of them should always be higher than Ambient. Makes sense. But, SpeedFan shows mine to be exactly the opposite. Right now, at idle, my temps show:
TCase: 32c
Core 0: 28c
Core 1: 28c
Ambient: 36c
It's like Bizzaro world in the Superman comics. After reading the guide I know how it reads the TCase and Core temps, but how does SpeedFan measure Ambient? I don't feel comfortable with trusting the temps I see.
I just gave my core temps a +15c offset. If I'm reading the guide properly, that is pretty typical for my E4500, since it has a TJ Max of 100c. Now the core temps are higher than the TCase anyway.
Silverion77, you have almost the same system as I do. What do your temps look like?
