I have to 250GB Seagate 16MB Cache 7200RPM hard drives now in RAID0. I always imagined RAID0 to be 2 times faster than just a bunch of disks (what's the abbreviation again?) in all aspects, but was recently disappointed. What I am mostly looking for is faster game loading. So, will RAID0 provide that particular benefit?

RAID-0 will never reap 2 times the performance. But it is better.

JBOD is the one your thinking off, but all that does is join disks together in a long string, dont think it offers any real performance benefit at all other than maybe read speed if you are accessing 2 different disks at once.

All in all you should get a performance increase in game loading with RAID-0 compared to a single drive but you might have to get your stop watch out. You could also compare differences between the 2 with HDtach.

Thanks. I'll leave it as RAID0 . I understand that it will give me a little loading boost in games with no tradeoff in other applications
