Hi everyone,

I have Creative - Inspire 5.1 5200 speakers.

MSI 975X Platinum PowerUp Edition which has the: Realtek AL882M onboard.

I downloaded the latest drivers for the sound card from msi and configured the system to 6 channels, but I have 2 problems :

1) There is no sound coming out from the center and subwoofer.

2) The sound is not smooth, it sounds pretty bad.

Thanks in advance!

If you are running Windows XP, you need to run Windows update for a patch concerning HD audio. Once that is installed you should probably re-install the sound card drivers.

I generally have had better luck with the drivers from the Realtek web site, rather than any that come on disk.

The way I found it was to run Windows Update in the web browser. It showed up under the hardware update section.

Do you have the speakers plugged in correctly into your motherboard? Somewhere in your onboard sound configs there should be a sound test that will play sound out of each separate channel. Try running that and see if it works.
