needing to find a way to improve my performance on my PC, have a 1gb video card but im always running in to low memory from the computer when gaming need to know if the main memory in the CPU can be turned off or disabled for better performance and not helping in video---system OS is XP. main board memory is 2X512 MB

Ok, so, your problem is your RAM. You have a good RAM on your GPU.

What mobo do you have?, my advice is increase the RAM of your PC from 1GB to 4GB(you only will use 3.5GB, because XP can't see more.) You need check the specifications of your mobo yo know what is the max amount of RAM that support and the specifications of this.
