Help with pc build - few questions

Hi

Building my first pc today, and have some questions

its a antec 900 and a gigabyte p35c-ds3r mb

1. fitting the ram, there are 4 slots for ddr2 ram, one yellow, one red on bank1, one yellow, one red on bank 2
I have 2 1gb modules, I have put then both in the yellow slots, Is this right ?

2. the power sw, hhd led and reset sw on the case are each 2 pin connecters,
one with one blue wire one white wire
one with one purple wire one white wire
one with one black wire one white wire

but on each connecter there is a little arrow on one side, which in this case would be on the side of the
blue, purple and black , am I right in assuming this indicates the plus connecter ?

May be best to use one dimm of ram is slot one only until you have an OS and MB drivers installed. The front panel leads will plug into the mb headers either way. HTH.

About the ram, yes it looks right for dual channel setup.

Always look through your manual to be sure. For example my MSI MB, has one channel as one color (green / orange). So one channel is green, the other is oragne, which did confuse me. I almost thought I had to put the 2 stick on the same color, which you are doing. Thing is I could do that, but it wouldn't be running in dual channel mode.

The wires... usually black is the ground, so the color would be the 'hot' wire. Looks like your getting the idea. Side note on the power/HD led lights. If it doesn't work when you power it on, it usually means you have it on backwards, or its on the wrong header.
