I have a Asus M2V-TVM Mobo and trying to install a new Seagate 320Gb Sata Hard Drive. I already have two 120Gb Maxtor IDE HDD's installed.

On initial installation and boot up, my Windows XP SP3 detected the new hardware and it appeared on my disk manager. I went to format but there was some problem that did not allow the process to complete. I tried numerous times but the format failed each attempt.

I tried rebooting and then found out that the hardware was no longer detected by Win XP.

Not sure what is wrong. I had an exact same Hard Disk installed and formatted before without incurring any problems. That other HDD died and was removed. Anybody got any ideas?
