Vista starts to load my hp printer driver then stops

Hello,
I have Vista 32 bit on my laptop and have been using a compatible hp 1350 all in one printer with a usb connection. A few times it went offline, I deleted the printer, plugged it in again and it was fine.......but now Vista starts to detect it and then stops, I can't even get it to load as a printer now. What's happening?

try going into C:/Windows/system32/spool/drivers and manually delete the drivers in that folder. try reinstalling your printer again.

wanamingo, I get a string of 14 choices under driver.

I have another printer installed that's working fine.

If I manually delete drivers under spool will it disable all printing functions or is this intended to clear a path so Vista will recognize the first printer?

No degrees in operating systems.
