Hi, I saw this video on youtube of a guy playing crysis, all on high with shadows on medium, in xp, on a 8600gt overclocked to around about the level of a gts, @1152x864. He says, and it looks like it!, that hes getting about 19fps. *Caution - very grainy! *
My question is, will my overclocked 7900gt be able to equal or beat a 8600gts in Crysis?? at this resoluton and detail setting??? (cos this guy has overclocked his gt to more or less a gts). I know a 7900 can beat a 8600gts in more than a few games, but the crysis benchmarks Ive seen show the 8600gts doing much better than 7900.
My card: EVGA 7900gt 700mhz core, 850mhz memory.
The rest, core 2 duo @2.4ghz, 2gb ddr 800, windows xp (for the foreseeable future )
If I can beat 19fps I'll be dead chuffed!
Thanks

Oh yeah, digesting that article, the 512mb 7900 has a core clock of 550mhz and memory of 1320mhz, so with a quick and rough bit of maths I came up with my core clock being 27% faster, and assuming the extra 29% memory clock is enough to feed the gpu appropriately, I get a frame rate of 41.7fps for my gt @ 1280x800, versus 32.8fps for a stock 512mb 7900gt. That would mean probably about 22 fps on high everything, medium shadows @1152x864. yay pawnage
lol Pure speculation! but i cant test this out for real for about another 6 weeks
