Worth it? (E8400 overclock)

At first i wanted to buy the Scythe Ninja PLUS SCNJ-1100P Rev. B for $30 (very good reviews and highly popular) so that i could overclock my E8400 to 4 GHz but now i have second thoughts.

Is it worth investing so much money on a cooler if i can overclock my E8400 to 3.6 GHz on a Arctic Cooling Alpine 7 Pro (costs around $6) (or even the stock cooler, I am using an Antec p182 cabinet after all)? I have my doubts wether it IS worth buying a ninja.

Do you see my point? Is it money/performance wise to sacrefice $24 on a better cooler and get 0.4 GHz more performance? is it even noticeable?

Yes it is wise because you paid good money for your E8400 and it has more than it is giving you. $20 isnt that much you will notice something on a lot of things.

i agree the ninja is worth it. you could even get past 3.6ghz with it.
