Wow when it comes down to it, it truly is a shocker. Ati's "High End" card really came short even with the driver updates. I mean when I got my GTS's they were 279.99 at Future Shop (BEST BUY for Canada). The ATi was almost or around 400$!!!!

The only advantge I've seen in the Ati's were the GDDR4 which kinda proved lacking. I know that Ati had driver problems but if I were an ATi consumer that bought a card with those results I'd prob drop dead from anger.

And trust me I use to be an ATI enthusiast, had all kinds of ATIs: 7500, 8500 AIW, 9500 pro (9700 SOFTMOD YEA), 9800 XT, x600 XT, x800 XL, X1900 AIW and finally the X1950 pro ( oc to XT). NOw i'm running Nvidia 8800 GTS in SL! ( which was alot better than crossfire from personal experiences).

I hope ATI comes back from this fall...not only because they're an awesome company but also to bring down the F'in Prices!!!!!

Thank You LMAO

I actually find ATI drivers to be more stable. I also like that each month around the same time a driver is released from them. However with nVidia they seem to release their drivers whenever could be months before they release a drive, and it could also be a crap release. I own a 2900 and I am not really disappointed by it, it performs just as well as the 8800GTS and sometimes better.

I've seen the 2900 XT rarely beat the 8800 GTS for 100$ more...lol Plus Nvidia always has beta drivers up which is amazing considering I've seen 1 up almost each week lol.

Single card the XT might beat it here or there...Haven't seen that in the THG benchmarks though...

But when it comes to SLI the 2900XT loses and you can't argue that.

P.S

The Beta drivers come out everytime a game comes that that is in high demand of play...IE Bioshock or portal :)

I dont know what benchmarks youve seen, but with catalyst 7.10 the 2900 beats both the gts 320 & 640 the majority of the time in dx9. dx10 is knackered for ati's cards, but then again its not exactly smooth for the gts's either. Plus nVidia released a beta driver very recently *crysis orientated*, whereas ati's new driver is coming in the next week or so. The 320mb gts is pretty much crippled by crysis, at least in single card form, far behind the 2900, which hasnt even had the necessary driver tweaks yet.

I played Crysis on single card And it Ran ok I just have to turn off Shadows....As for the Benchmarks check the overall Benchmarks in THG VGA Charts and You'll see what I mean...The XT is in the GTS classes and loses most of the time at 1280 Resolution or under:) I'm talking bout both GTS....
Not only that but theres the new Gt out there that only 300$ and it beats its by A LONG SHOT.

You can't argue that and its still 100$ less

Yeah the gt is cheap, but thats not really to do with an XT vs. GTS argument. Check THG 8800gt benchmark, or any 8800gt benchmarks. XT is pathetic at dx10, brings home the bacon on the dx9 though. Wouldnt count crysis quite yet.

Correction: on the 'gt' benchmarks all cards are using latest drivers, so best comparison of XT Vs. GTS. In dx9 the XT has the GTS by the short and curlys.

....cant ignore those gt figures though lol :)
