Price range not super important. Thats why I was asking because I know your cpu will bottleneck so to the the best card on the market may not be a good fit. I was looking at the 8800 gt I have a 7900 gt Ko now.

If u can, change your CPU and get a Core2Duo and then get a 8800GT

You aren't going to get the most out of a GF8800GT with your set up, your CPU will probably bottleneck so any Core 2 Duo is the way to go.

But using an 8800GT will get the absolute most out of his current system though. And he can later drop that into another system and stretch the legs of the card. However, I do agree he needs a CPU upgrade. A C2D would be nice (if it supports it), or even a Pentium D would give it a little life (being dual core and all, however it's probably not worth it).

Thanks for the input guys. I decided to drop the 8800 into the current system with a motherboard and cpu upgrade in the very near future.

*thumbs up* (pun intended) Sounds like a great plan.
