missing imapi cd rom burning service

i am missing the recording tab on my lite on lh-20a1s dvd combo drive, i do not have the IMAPI cd rom burning service at all. i dont even have the required entries in my registry. how do i install these components onto my computer. (installing an updated driver doesnt help)
