MSI has their K9A2 Platinum on Newegg for $179.99, the thing supports Quad 8x Crossfire cards (not that I would spend $800+ on video cards right now). Hopefully this means that AMD will get the Phenoms out when they promised this time. I really want to build a new computer after the first of the year and I want to give AMD a chance to show off before I go give my hard earned cash to Intel.
Hopefully these put on a good show; I really wouldn't mind a quad core AMD machine.
Phenoms will be out soon, but demand may outstrip supply. I wouldn't pay a premium for phenom. If you can't wait for prices to settle down, then Intel may be a better choice.
