ok, so right now i have a seagate 250gb 7200.10 with the os and everyrthing else on it.
i bought a seagate 250gb 7200.11 32mb cache harddrive and want my operating system just on that harddrive and then everything else on the other.
do i need to get a program to reformat and repartition the harddrive with the OS already on it (the 7200.10) and then just go throughout the regular way of installing XP 64-bit on the new drive??
1.Backup whatever you want to keep.
2.Verify that you have indeed backed up everything you need.
3.Use fdisk to delete the partition you've got on the old disk.
4.Install the OS on the new disk.
You can then make partitions on the old disk from Device Manager.
Just do a fresh install of XP-64bit on your new drive like normal and format your old drive through Windows booting from your new drive. Just back everything up first. And like aevm said, you can use Device Manager to format and repartition the old drive however you like.
