I have a PowerConnect 5324 switch I purchased on ebay at a great price that I thought I could use to sharpen some of my networking skillz at home. I hadn't worked with this switch outside a server room and had no idea how loud this sucker could be- its like a jet plane taking off!!! I'd really like to switch out the fans for something quieter but everything I've tried either doesn't power on at all or burns out the moment its plugged in. I'll admit to being slightly ignorant when it comes to the basics of electrical specs; its never been necessary. Here are the specs of the current fan:

Delta Electronics EFB0412VHD 40mm fan, 12V .18a and at least 32.5dB-A.

I've tried lower Amp fans- if they are too low, they don't start- too close, fry instantly. I haven't tried anything over .12a.

HELP! I don't want to have to toss this switch!
