I am limping along with my current system until the new year but I am looking at buying a new pc then. I am not interested in building one. My 22 inch LCD ,DVD RW, Sound Blaster Audigy and TV tuner cards could all go into it. So can you guys point me in the direction of a good prebuilt set up that I can buy and throw a decent Video card in and be rolling reasonable. Like to stay in the $250 -$350 range. Your help is appreciated Thanks

I'd go for an amd or p4 system on black friday. Be sure it has a separate pci-e slot for a video upgrade. Also, check the power supply if possible and be sure it's a standard size. You'll probably need to upgrade to at least 400 watts or more for a mid range video card. Some pc's still come with a 250 watt ps. Avoid celeron 3.2's, which are the usual cpus in the $199 specials. Most of those motherboards won't run a core2 duo cpu. If you can't buy on black friday, check slickdeals.net after the new year for dell and hp deals.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor 4000+ operating at 2.1GHz 1MB (2 x 512KB) L2 cache 2000MHz frontside bus 1.0GB of PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM memory (2 x 512MB), upgradable to 2.0GB 320GB 7200-rpm SATA II hard drive with 8MB cache SuperMulti DVD drive with Double Layer capabilities nVidia GeForce 6150SE
I would skip the tiger direct setup. Get a complete system with a one year warranty from the manufacturer. Remember, black friday is only 3 weeks from tomorrow. The ads are starting to appear at special websites that post the specials ahead of time. Do a search and you will see several stores listed, especially next week.
the magical day after thanksgiving when everything goes on sale at every store in town...its an excuse for wives every where to drag their husbands out of bed at ungodly hours to stand in the cold with other miserable husbands while the wives titter away about the great sales they are going to take advantage of
Yes, and you have to go WAY EARLY to get those deals. This will be my 6th Black Friday and trust me when I say the good deals are gone quicker than a pair of panties at a frat house.
A lot of online retailers including Newegg are getting into the Black Friday craze and the Monday after is now called Cyber Monday http://content.hamptonroads.com/st [...] ran=154375 due to the sales available. I would wait a few weeks and see what deals you can find and if you can't find anything you'll just have to pay full price which you'll do now anyway.
