Hi All,

I have brought the new computer with the following configuration:

ASUS P5K
Segagate SATA(or SATA2?) Harddisk (250GB wuth 16MB buffer), the serial number is ST3250410AS
LG IDE DVD-RW
GEIL DDR2 800 1GB * 2
Asus 8600 GT

When I finished building the system and tried to install Windows XP SP2, the nightmare came.

during the installation, in the phase that displaying "Windows is setting up" (I forgot the exact wording, but it is immediately after the driver is loaded into the RAM from the installation CD)

Then the Blue screen of death was displayed saying that ****stop: 0x0000007b

I have done some research on the web and someone suggest me to load the JMicron driver by pressing the F6 key before the installation.(I have tried both the driver in the CD provided by ASUS and on the websites of JMicron) The driver was loaded successfully but the same error occured.

Do anyone know what the problem is? Any suggestion is appreciated. I am just feeling frustrated

Thanks a lot,
Noel

Did you do a full format of the drive before installing Windows?

kogcolgate im no expert but how do you have it set up in the bios? I think there is a sata configuration page/tab where you can tell the bios to configure sata as enhanced then sata as ide. What color are the sata ports you have the drive
