hey guys I was wondering which is "better" . . I have a 320mb 8800GTS and after reading the review on tomshardware saying that the 8800GT actually out performs it, I'm trying to see which of the two is truly better . . I'm thinking of selling my 8800GTS to a friend and get the 8800GT . . . any thoughts? thanks for the help.
The GF8800GT is better than the GTS in like 99.44% of situations.

The 8800 GT is smoking the 8800 GTS 320 and 640 MB. It's close to the 8800 GTX in alot of benchmarks. I just got mine and am loving it. The card runs quiet and cool if you use RivaTuner to tweak the fan settings. I got the MSI 8800 GT and clocked it to 700/1000.
There's a GT shortage, so on many e-tailers, instead of the expected $200-250 price the GT-512 is selling at $260-300+
It's still a value in the context of a GTS-320 @ $270 2 weeks ago, but compared to where the GT was supposed to be priced, and was initially, it's overpriced in most locations right now.
So you can pay less than $250, but usually that's for a "not in stock ETA 2-8 weeks" purchase.

I bought the Asus EN8800gt 512 and love it. Rocks my system. Comes stock clock with great utilities to OC on demand, control fan speeds, monitor temps ect.. Everythign you need from ASUS.
No need to upgrade from a GTS 320 to a GT, unless you are getting fairly close in $ for the Gts as you would pay for the Gt.
What they said....
Yeah the GT is better but it ain't THAT much better. I've got a GTS320 and I'd do it for $50-75. If upgrading cost over $100 it wouldn't be worth it IMHO.
New cards are coming out fairly soon BTW....you might want to wait.
