Nope, junk. Even with the x1950pro, but for nearly twice as much. Firing squad or legion had a review on them thats already been posted and it tied the x1950pro the whole way through. If they turn out to be good overclockers then maybe, but right now I wouldn't touch one.

A friend of mine is considering to take a little trip just to buy some hardware - a laptop to be exact. The price difference between what it costs in europe and what it costs in the US is big enough to pay for the flight and a day or two in a hotel. Then again the warranties in the US aren't that good and in the case at hand, buying 3000-5000$ hardware that needs to be shipped to the US in case something goes wrong, can be quite a hassle.

Nice to see people agree.

I do wonder however if it COULD be a good card. Right now it is priced much to high. $200 for that? No way. If however the card fell to sub $150, and it can overclock to great speeds, then it might be a good card. At the moment however, I see no reason to get x1950pro performance at twice the price.

That review is not very detailed. Its basically a 8800GT test. I would like to see a GPU-Z screenshot of the card. Its possible it is just a very underclocked R600XT or just less memory. If that is possible then that means it should OC to XT speeds easily.

I can tell you for sure that the 2900Pro is a XT clocked lower as thats what GPU-Z shows. But this might or might not be.
