having HD issue with my new build.

Hi,
I put system togeather withe below specs.

GA-P35-DS4
st3500630AS HD
2 GB mem.

In bios i can see 500 GB HD. While installing XP pro. and setting up partition, I am not able to see full drive.
do i need to do something in bios?

I have install HD in SATA 0 slot. I have only one HD in system and I am not setting RAID. I just want to split this HD into two partition.

In Bios, I see this drive under IDE heading. why am i not seeing SATA information? is this common?

Also, I want to format this drive before I put any software on it.

what number should i see while selecting partition for my 500 gb hd?

Please provide some information.

I assume you only see 132gb? which i believe is a limitation with early versions of XP if you update to SP1/SP2 it will work fine. Easiest way is to get a copy with SP1 or 2 slipstreamed into the install.

If you must install with the old XP Pro disk, try partitioning the 1st OS partition to 130gb or smaller, & the other partition(s) to any size. Install XP PRO & this fix:
