A while back, there was some discussion about promising technology to enable CPUs to harness some of the processing power of grahics cards - with the promise of a significant boost in processing power.

What is the latest? When might we see some products?

there is some stuff out there no one uses
kuda i think its called
i dont think its usefull that much until the power envelope gets more under control for graphics cards and the heat issues
i know folding @ home uses ati graphics cards for number crunching

its really graphic cards becoming super computes that appears to be the trend with all the cores
