Alright...
I have a PC that I built a couple of years ago;
AMD 3800+ (socket 939)
DFI Lanparty mobo (s939)
1 GB PC3200 RAM Corsair xms(2?)
Ati X700 Pro-256MB

2 months ago I installed:
Antec 900 case
500gb 7200RPM HD
Thermaltake PSU

Ok now here is my idea;
I plan to buy a AMD 4400+ x2 (s939)-i can get it new for under $90 online
new cpu heat sink
all tonight

Down the road:
2GB RAM
new Video card

What do u guys think/recommend I do?
I want to keep my good mobo/I want to oc eventually
The purpose of this is a low-cost upgrade, I want to extend the life of this pc- I like playing the newest games

I am pretty sure it would be quite unwise to get a 939 socket. They are pretty much extinct. Then again, if you got a different socket, you'd need a new mobo.

I suppose your upgrade is decent, but I'd think about a better mobo/CPU.
