Ok, like all, I have a problem. I have a LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-160P6S installed on my system which came with the computer which was purchased 3 years ago. The computer is a gateway. The driver has worked fine until about a week ago. For some reason it just stopped working. My computer realizes the hardware is there. When I go to the device manager and try to update it the computer cannot find it even though it shows on my device manager screen. Then when I uninstall the driver then restart the computer recognizes there is hardware that is not installed. I try to install it using Windows and it cannot find the driver at that time. I have even tried to download the original installer but when I try and use it I get this message:

No matched drive detected!
This utility is only for LITE-ON DVDRW SHW-160P6S drive.

Detected drives:

Any idea what might have happened and how I might fix it?
