I see to have one of those google redirecting viruses

I'm an 82 year old man ...a little smarter than a novice with the computer....but evidently I picked up the Windows Redirect Virus when I upgraded from Vista to 7 but later went back to Vista. Forget now why, but was having some kind of trouble and was told to do so. In any event......my wife and I are going bananas with this Windows Redirect. Can anyone tells us how to get rid of it....in real layman terms????
