Looking at a cheap card.
I am not doing games but will be doing TV-out.
I am looking at ATI 2400 Pro and GeForce 8400 based boards.

Is there any significant differences?
Am I going too cheap?
Do both of these show up as dual monitors? (I think ATI does)
Does the TV-out port follow either the VGA or DVI port, or is it only linked to one of them? (ATI seems to be linked to DVI port)

TV out usually is separate from the VGA or DVI ports.

Radeons and Geforces can both do dual output mixes of monitors and TVs.

WHat do you plan to do with them? Watch DVDs?

Watch DVDs, watch TV (live and recorded).

Don't have HD yet, but figured having HD output would extend the useful life of the card. (better hand down chance)
