I will get a new computer soon and it will have a Blu-ray drive and I have started buying Blu-rays and plan to watch Blu-rays on this new computer.

My understanding is there is no free software to play Blu-rays that is legal. I think that is the case. I do know that they went overboard on how they control the Blu-ray format and you need to download official license keys every so often in order to legally play Blu-rays (something like that). I hope people know what I'm talking about.

The point is, there is probably no good, free, and legal Blu-ray software, is there? The only stuff worth owning and that updates the license keys often is stuff you buy, right? Is all that correct? What Blu-ray software should I buy?

You understand wrong; you can purchase software to play Blu-ray DVDs on a PC.

I made a mistake. I meant to say "free" legal software.
