a little confused about the audio features...

hello everyone, I, (before I knew about the 8800gt ) bought a 2900 pro, and so I'm a bit confused about this.. it says on the box that it supports hd audio, Now I always thought that graphics cards did graphics, but im wondering, does that mean it can be a sound card as well? (if it was, it would be very helpful, my onboard sound sucks A$$)

Well however it works, when installing it makes itself the primary sound device so be warned.

what? that cant be right? because my onboard sound only gives me sound out of one speaker (of the 2) and it still doesn't after i've put it in
