If cpuz is showing 6x and when under load it goes back up to 9x, then obviously speedstep is still enabled. Maybe replacing the CMOS battery helps? Or getting the latest bios?

Is there honestly a drop in performance while gaming/benchmarking with these enabled ? ... When i run prime95 or any game it stays steady at x9 .. running at 3.71ghz ... when idle, like ya say it drops ... but the machine doesn't stutter or twitch ... no issues ... whats the reason for turning it off ?
