Hi people, i had a problem with my 6600gt OC from bfg and sent to them. They sent to me a 7600gs with 256 ddr2, and i got pretty excited with this new 7xxx tech, and started to OC this one too. I had my 6600gt running @ 585/1285, it was pretty good i think or just normal, but i got my 7600gs OC to 600/460, and this is pretty impressive since i did't see anyone yet doing it on the web, but the problem is not that, I'm playing SWAT 4 and i was using all the configurations possible in it and i was having a little delay on the image, low FPS, but was playable, and then came the new one i just updated the driver and started the game but i noticed a HUGE difference in the image quality.
When i turn on the light in my gun on the game and aim it to the wall or anything i got a really blurred image instead of a brighter and good image, just with more light, that i had with my 6600gt, I'm seeing this people talking and trying to decide wich one is better but I'm not convinced that this 7600gs is better.

Can someone help me here???

I believe it's the affects of Sm2.0 and SM3.0. The 6600 series, as I recall, was SM2.0 and the 7 series was SM3.0; which the latter would give you more graphics capabilities. I believe you can turn off whatever is causing the blur within the games settings.

Well i tried everything that is in my level of knowledge, with and without OC, with and without the maximum settings and it just doesn't change a thing, i wrote to BFG and I will wait for an answer from them.
The 6600 and 7600 are SM3, the only differences are in the memory type, 66xxDDR3 7600DDR2, and the processor family.

Did you let the card run for a while before ocing it? You should let it work in for a fair amount of hours before ocing it. And yes, the 7600gs is better than a 6699gt by about 30-40%

well i OC strait away, didn't give it time to breath, but have water so it's running load under 40, well but now is too late to revert that.
And I'm getting a 4.9 aero against 5.5 6600gt and 4.7 against 4.9 Gamming. OCed...

Can someone explain that?

Make a clean driver installation.

Install latest drivers

OC a little bit and turn the fan all the way on. Probably hard is getting too hot.

that is the thing, i have water, it doesn't pass 40, while the air in idle is 47 50s, i tried to mess with the AA and AF, nut no change, wrote to bfg and they told me to scrub the driver and install it again, i did but still no change, i will wait until they return the next step...

Many tech support personnel are among the stupidest people in the world. They just tell you to do stuff:

1) That you have already done.
2) That you would have tried next anyway.
3) That is completely unrelated.
