Hi!

I've got a system a couple of weeks ago. These are the specs.

1. E2160 Dual core CPU.
2. 2 x 1024 MB Transcend DDR2-800 Jetram (Dual channel)
3. ASUS P5K-VM MOBO (G33 Chipset)
4. Hitachi Deskstar TK7250 250 GB HDD.
5. XFX GeForce 8600 GT

Now I have the BIOS that I got with the Mobo. Its an AMI BIOS, version 0401. Right now I'm running my system at FSB 1333, with multiplier 8, and my core voltage is 1.304 V. Thats what ASUS PC Probe and CPUz show, However CPUz says 1.232 V sometimes, although I've turned C1E off.

My RAM is set to DDR2-800 mode.

ASUS allows a feature(at least my mobo does) to upgrade the BIOS from the OS I think.

My problem is every time i put the multiplier on 9 (333x9) I get a system hang after 5-10 minutes.

At default clock speed, I'm running my system on FSB 1200, 1.8 GHz (300x6).

Is My BIOS preventing me from reaching 3 GHz?

My CPU runs at 28c and at 2.7 GHz is running at 31c. My motherboard gets kinda hot though, going up all the way to 45-47c. right now its at 38c and increasing.

         Thanks in advance.

ASUS has a warning on their forums on some of their motherboards for users NOT to use the automatic BIOS update utility from the OS. I don't know if it applies to them all but definately applies to the P5W DH Deluxe. It could damage your BIOS chip. If you want to flash your BIOS i suggest you use the AFUDOS utility. Anyway, I don't think  it's your BIOS that's causing the system hang. Obviously your overclock is not stable at those settings.

Your motherboard has onboard graphics. Have you disabled it in the BIOS?
It's normal for onboard graphics to run hotter.

If you haven't read the overclocking guides on this forum yet I suggest you do and focus on the voltage optimization.
This helped me alot :
